I am a Professional Artist in Fairhope, Alabama. My work is in multiple media but my favorite is Acrylics~next in line Watercolors and then Oils. My favorite subjects include local wildlife, landscape~usually with boats, and obsession paintings (looking at other peoples obsessions in a new way).I participate in a lot of outdoor shows with helper and spouse Christopher. I do several outdoor shows a year and this blog is about the adventures getting ready for them.

Vintage Beach IX

Yesterday got away from me, this is Monday's post.

The last of the vintage suits for now. The bare midriff was the beginnings of the bikini. The bikini did not make it's official appearance until 1946. The war effort required all clothing fabric usage to be reduced by 10%. The skirt was the first part to go, then the bikini became a new fashion to be embraced. However, as we have seen, women did not fully embrace the bikini until much later in the century!

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do...And I am mortified that I have so many profiles I have to choose one...that's gonna take a few more days to sort out...
