100 days~ The Cephalopod creature

The Cephalopod creature.
Did you know that an octopus's appendages are called arms and not tentacles?
What I did know is that each arm can regenerate if the octopus is attacked.
Each arm has it's own brain as well, with a larger central brain and eight smaller ones operating the arms.
I just learned that myself a few days ago!
100 days
100 paintings
The journey is just beginning though!
I am continuing with the paintings, but may not post every day.
The journey has been wonderful, productive, and profitable.
I thank you dear reader for joining me on this odyssey of Art.

100 days~100 paintings.
It seems hard to believe, but then again it's not.
I know at least 25 of them are already sold,
which is mind boggling to me since they are less than 4 months old.
I am grateful to God for my talent, my treasure, and the time I've gotten to spend with you!
Let the next 100 begin!

Free flight

Free flight was part of a long day.
Incredible amounts of rain, friends and family having surgery, illness striking, and deadlines looming.
Last night was tough as our dachshunds have decided they don't like thunder any more.
We have one that barks, the other whimpers.
They both were active last night.
And before you ask, they don't sleep in bed with us!
Dachshunds are bed hogs and I worry about them falling or jumping off the bed.
Anyway, we didn't get enough sleep.
Then we both went to our respective studios to work.
About 12:30 we were both hungry and stopped for lunch.
Me back at it in the studio around 1:30.
Chris had a Paws break.
(nap with a dachshund)
I painted the afternoon away.
Then taught a class tonight at church.
Then I blog for tonight.

Crab escape master

I don't know about you, but we have a lot of blue crab here along the gulf coast.
These are a tasty addition to our seafood fare here in Alabama.
Getting close to the 100 paintings being completed.
However, I will have to go on and paint more as the galleries are selling.
Hopefully this weekend, I'll sell too!
Freedom Fest is happening at the Wharf and I signed up for a booth.
The entry fee was negligible, only $100.
However I do need to go get my license for the county to be legal again.
Usually, we can renew our license at the National Shrimp Festival, but we know where that went!
I am excited and a little nervous as the festival is one day only.
We can set up the tent on Friday, show on Saturday.
Praying it all goes well.
I am still painting, creating and dreaming of what can be shows on the coast for this year.

The escapee

The escapee was completed after a very long day.
I was awakened by a strong storm at 4 am this morning.
I realized my friends in Africa were at their show, so I got up and started to pray for their providence.
I finished all my Bible readings, sent the readings to them, and journaled as well.
I received a reply from one of them as they were able to read the Bible readings while at the show.
I continued to pray as we went to church early, hanging a new set for the kids at CK.
We went to service then, went to our daughters house to sew, my dad to visit,
and our son all at their respective homes.
We finally got back to the house about 5pm.
Took dogs for a ride, then ate dinner.
I then headed to the studio.
Long day!

The mechanics of?

Long time working today on this one!
Sorry all I've got to show for it is a piece of the next steampunk painting.
Although, I imagine you can tell what it is going to become.
I'm really happy with how it's coming together though.
I should be able to work on it tomorrow after I create a dream costume for my grandson!
Today Christopher was a big help, putting wires on several pieces.
Then he helped with varnishing!
I checked behind him, because he said he never does it right!
I am so grateful for the helping hands.
All completed works are varnished now, once dry, they'll get bagged up for the show next weekend.

Frequent Flier III?

If you read yesterdays post, you know I was considering an addition to Frequent Flier II.
This is the additional turtle I've added.
I am currently working on costume pieces for our grandson.
I was lucky to have gotten this done today!
A lot of thinking and 60 buckles later I am Yaya the creator!
Michael Jackson's bad costume.
One day for the grandson to wear to school.
I love it!
