Some watercolor please!

These three paintings are some of my demonstrations I do during my watercolor classes. We are winding down the ESILL class for watercolor and I will miss these energetic and lovely women! They are all delightful to be around and really encourage me to embrace my later years. I am convinced that we stay young by constantly staying active and learning. We can all learn from each other, even if we don't take a class! Join a small group, take a class, find a neighbor! Don't just sit your life away watching television or the computer. (there is also more to life than our phones!)

Art pARTy to You and art camp with the wee ones!

Art pARTy to You is a business my girlfriend, Linda Scoot and I started recently. We are having a lot of fun and  learning a great deal about all kinds of things while running a business! Most of all, making sure our clients are happy with their completed piece and wanting to come back for more! Our first Manci Monday was a rousing success, with over 20 people in attendance.

Surely you jest! and There's an Alligator! are pieces that were completed with the 4-6 year olds at the Daphne Art Center this past week. Each piece of art was inspired by a book we read first, We made a mobile, a jester, a mouse sculpture, an alligator painting, and a spider sculpture. A fun time was had by all 

(at least I think they had fun!) The Daphne Art Center is also on Facebook for additional photos. We dabbled in glitter, watercolor, Acrylic, newspaper, and recycled art all in this Atelier class.

This catches me up on the current painting a day. I am still having some issues with the internet, but things have calmed down for now. Let the REAL painting begin!  

Weeks Worth of Paintings!

     Needless to say, this week has been a busy one! I am still painting in the studio with a passion to create strong within me! The problem is getting to the blog and posting! Anyway, I am now teaching three, and possibly four days a week now in various venues. I am having a great time, with my favorite being the  Painting a day class at the Eastern Shore Art Center. I am surprised that the class has actually grown from 6 to 9 students! I am so honored that though they are struggling to keep up with my frantic pace, the women joining me in this class are having a good time. All are saying this is what I need, to quit fiddling around!

     This painting was started in the paintinga day class and finished that afternoon in my studio. I will be happy to see what my students came up with during their "homework"

     Heron my Heron is another one of  the paintings based on photographs taken while on vacation in Perdido key, Fl. This guy is definitely the king of the pilings at the pier!

     This little guy is from Coya Costa and is one of my most popular sepias as well!

     The Big Beautiful Blue is just that, a Blue Heron. These birds are so interesting to paint!

     This blue crab is one of many to leave my easel over the past few weeks and months. I am so grateful that people are still purchasing my works, while allowing me to call myself a professional artist!

     Last but not least, a miniature! This nautilus is more green in the background than it looks!

Channel Marker 7

Channel marker 7 is located near the boat dock on the way to Coya Costa, Florida. This guy was chillin out waiting for the day to begin. Our boat ride was early and he was drying out after an early fishing expedition. I love to paint pelicans andI painted this one while on a cruise out of Mobile, Alabama. People are always amazed that I paint while on vacation or at shows. I cannot sit still and do nothing, so I paint! I am surrounded by people reading books and I find it very relaxing. It also gives me the opportunity to talk with people about my websites and blog. I also hand out cards to anyone who asks. I really enjoy talking with the public while I am out and about, so if you happen to find me painting don't hesitate to have a chat!

Pelican Morning

I love to paint these magnificent birds! They are grand, beautiful and comical all at once. I really enjoyed painting this one.
The painting is in oil and measures 18 x 32. The colors are a beautiful morning light. I may work on the pilings and the center one's feet though. Otherwise it is pretty much finished.
The painting a day is fun and I find it relaxing and enjoyable. I am also becoming more rapid and efficient with the downloading, cropping, and adjusting of the works. I also find I am less frustrated when there is a problem on the computer!
